Warning! Disconnect Spark Plug

If the pull cord is difficult to pull and the mower won't start try this:

Warning! Disconnect Spark Plug

Remember to always ensure the mower is off and the spark plug wire is disconnected before inspecting or working on any part of the engine. To safely remove the spark plug cap firmly grasp the cap itself and pull it straight off the spark plug in a straight line. Avoid pulling on the wire itself to prevent damage, pull on the metal cap. Secure it away from the spark plug.

Tilt the mower on its side (making sure the air filter is facing up so oil doesn't leak out) and slowly turn the blade. The blade will turn a bit and some resistance will be felt from the compression. Keep pushing the blade through this resistance until it spins freely once again. Once the blade is spinning freely put the mower back on four wheels, reconnect the spark plug and try to start the mower.
